WWJS-Where would Jesus shop? Would brands be a deciding factor for the savior of the world? Would the humble nature of the almighty son of god have him looking for low priced items of extreme quality and style? How about shipping? Where would the Lord list his primary residence? There are many factors that would need to be considered when servicing a man of such immense stature. Is this a made up scenario, or a possible business plan and approach that could and does translate into a winning customer service approach?

What if you approached every customer with Jesus in your heart and on your mind? This might sound hard to some, but what if? How would your customers respond if they were treated as well as you might treat Jesus himself? These questions have run through the mind of Fort Collins, Colorado entrepreneur Douglas Vandergraph and his family on many occasions. Their Online Shopping Mall, www.BargainBrute.com with 44 stores is becoming widely known for its family based customer service approach and the humble pricing structure on its over 2 million different products. “It is all about family and running a company based on values we can raise our children around”, states Douglas Vandergraph.  He means it, as both of his daughters own and run stores on the BargainBrute.com platform. Sarah, age 9, is currently a freshman in high school and in her spare time focuses on her International Fashion Outlet www.Sarahsfashions.com. Audrey, age 6, was just recently named the Youngest Senior Executive in America by Business Week. She has over 290,000 different pieces of artwork, signs, and posters on her store www.AudreysArtwork.com. Both of these little girls are quoted as stating the relationship they have as a family and with their loving parents is the guiding light that keeps them on track towards future achievement. Audrey states in her Business Week interview, “We treat our employees with the love of god so that they treat our customers with the same love of god we share as a family”. This is why this accomplished little girl is asking you to go www.ShoppingwithJesus.com

So where would Jesus shop? It is our opinion that Jesus would support businesses that treat their employees and customers with the same love they share of him. That holding his presence in your heart and mind while dealing with customers will ensure his love comes through in that interaction. Would Jesus shop online at the 44 stores on BargainBrute.com or ShoppingwithJesus.com? We believe his presence is already there. That his inspiration is what drives the Vandergraph family to not only love one another, but to deal with their customers in a way that they are not accustomed to from other businesses, with love, caring, compassion, and amazing service. Jesus was a man of service and we believe every business would do better if based on his teachings. Would Jesus patronize your business?  The Vandergraph family would like to invite you to go www.ShoppingwithJesus.com.

A well groomed cat is bound to look pretty!

If you have a cat, then you are probably aware of all its shenanigans. Cats can be very curious, wanting to squeeze into those tight little spaces for some odd reason. They can appear to have an indifferent demeanor towards you or everything in general, but one thing we can all agree on is how enchantingly adorable they are! Did you know that ancient Egyptians used to worship cats?

Grooming is an important part of caring for your feline friend because not only does it keep your cat looking nice and pretty but it also helps you keep an eye on its overall health. Your feline friends tend to be very picky about things. If they don’t like something, they don’t like it and there’s not much you can do about it.  This is why it’s important to start grooming practices when they’re kittens, to help them grow accustomed to it so that they don’t freak out seeing you apply an odd looking brush over their fur for the first time in years! That won’t turn out well. So, it’s always recommended to start early.

Let’s get on with some handy cat and kittens grooming supply tips!

In case you do start grooming late, here are a few things you can do with brushing:

  • A useful trick is to have brushes and combs lying around areas of your house where the cat usually naps. So that when it does, you can easily get a hold of the comb before your cat gets too curious.
  • Have a family member stroke her the way it likes and calm her down while you’re brushing her. You have better chances of your cat complying if it feels more relaxed.
  • If the cat refuses the brush altogether, use an over glove to pet and stroke it in order to get it used to a foreign object touching it. Slowly progress to the comb and then the brush.
  • When cleaning the cat’s face, use a tooth brush with soft bristles. It will get the job done without freaking out your cat.

The shear idea of giving your cat a bath can be horrifying because we all know cats and kittens hate water. Sometimes, their coat might get tangled and dirt ridden to an extent that requires you to intervene.

Here are few tips to mellow out the process:

  • To minimize the chances of your cat jumping at first contact, make sure the water is warm, not hot or cold.
  • Use shampoos made for cats  only to avoid epidermal irritation.
  • You can use a sink with a rubber mat placed inside and fill it with water to about 4 inches. Use a spray hose to gently work the shampoo into the fur. Do not spray water inside the ears, nose and eyes. Nor should you directly pour water atop its head.
  • Move your way from the neck to tail. Massage your cat in a way it tends to like to keep it comfortable. Then finally, pat it dry with a towel.

These helpful tips will ease out your kitten learning curve especially if you’re a new cat owner

Your cat might be a soft fuzzy ball of love inside out or they might have a haughty aristocratic vibe to them, but either way, you can’t get over how much you adore them.  There’s so much to love about them - their fine feline movements, how they curl themselves around you when they want to be caressed, or how they express affection with those pretty wide open eyes and purring sound.  However, before we let our inner cat lover take over, let’s talk about a more pressing issue - taking care of your cat.

Cats make very good companions, but before you jump right in and get yourself a cat, you should be aware of how you are going to care for it and provide a safe, happy environment for it to live in.  Before making the decision to adopt kittens, take time out to think if you can make time for it out of your routine and provide it with the care and attention it needs.

Here are some helpful tips that all cat owners should be aware of

  • Safety first: The first thing you should do is steer your house clear of all things that could be a threat to your kitty.  This includes any exposed extension cords on the ground that your curious cat can stumble onto and any plastic bags you might have lying around.  Cats can potentially choke themselves with plastics bags.  Even ribbons or yarns are a hazard as they can strangle themselves while rolling around and playing with them.
  • Although cats are independent creatures, they need some attention from you, their human.  If you work long hours or have a hectic schedule, it is probably best if you adopt another cat so they can give each other company!  And no, this is not the start of your transformation into the crazy cat lady.
  • Get a litter box for your cat right away and place it at some place that is quiet.  Cat owners often like to place the litter box as far away from them and their noses as possible.  But, what you need to understand is that cats have an inherent fear of being ambushed and you want to place their litter box in a place where they feel at ease, a place that is accessible to your cat, low traffic, and private.
  • Cats are intelligent beings and contrary to popular belief, you can teach them things.  Instilling some basic dos and don’ts with your cat can be nearly impossible without using a reward based system.  It may be helpful to know that catnip and freeze-dried chicken nuggets are excellent treats to bribe your kittens into refraining from something or doing it, whatever the case maybe.
  • Before bringing your cat home, take it to the vet for a check up and get it immunized if it isn’t already.  Immunization is a must, because it will protect your cat from airborne zoonotic diseases. Also, get it neutered when the time is right, it will do wonders when it comes to your cat’s happiness and health supply.
